Because of fatal accidents, LTFRB grounds buses of JAM Liner, DLTB, and Rural Transit

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday ordered three bus companies involved in separate fatal road accidents to suspend their operations.

Issued preventive suspension orders (PSO) were the following:

  •     JAM Liner Inc, 10 units;
  •     Del Monte Motor Works Inc (DLTB), one unit; and
  •     Rural Transit of Mindanao Inc, 15 units.

"We have been reminding bus operators and their drivers to refrain from driving recklessly to prevent fatal road accidents. The Board will never tolerate reckless driving behavior, kaya pinapatawan namin ng 30-day preventive suspension order ang JAM Liner, DLTB at Rural Transit of Mindanao Inc. from operating along our national roads," LTFRB chairman Winston M. Ginez said.

Within 30 days, the three bus companies must bring all their units to the Motor Vehicle Inspection Service (MVIS) of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for inspection and determination of their road worthiness before they are again allowed to operate.

JAM Liner bus with plate number DXV-571 and DLTB unit with plate number UYC-564 collided along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) in Brgy Poblacion, Malvar, Batangas, on May 4, 2014 resulting in the death of one passenger and injuries to 46 others.

In the case of Rural Transit, one of its buses with plate number KWA-252 figured in a road incident at 1:45 p.m of April 27 along the National Highway in Brgy. Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, resulting in the death of six passengers and multiple injuries to 16 others.

The 10 JAM Liner units covered by the PSO ply the San Juan, Batangas – Lawton, Manila via Lipa City route. They have been grounded at the company’s garage in the Penta Compound, Pulong Sta Cruz, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The DLTB unit involved in the accident will also be grounded in its terminal in EDSA Cubao, Quezon City.

Pixillusion Technologies Inc. and www.iwantseats.com.ph, the first real time bus ticket booking website are inviting you to join the movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads, especially those caused by reckless driving and public vehicles that are allowed to ply our roads without ensuring their road worthiness.

Let us encourage and demand better public transportation services from bus operators, government regulatory boards, the government and let them know we care about what takes place on our roads.

We are beginning this movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads by offering our proprietary "360 Pre-Trip Inspection” checking and monitoring system to bus operators for free. This hand-held device can check vital aspects of a bus and tell you of its current condition, whether it should be quarantined or allowed to carry passengers and travel. When this  "360 Pre-Trip Inspection” checking and monitoring system is used religiously and properly by quality control  before any bus is dispatched for travel, the use of this device, which we are giving for free to bus operators will definitely curb down road fatalities.

Please post this article on your facebook and share to friends to get the movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads massive support.
