Movement for ZERO fatalities

Because of fatal accidents, LTFRB grounds buses of JAM Liner, DLTB, and Rural Transit

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday ordered three bus companies involved in separate fatal road accidents to suspend their operations.

Issued preventive suspension orders (PSO) were the following:

  •     JAM Liner Inc, 10 units;
  •     Del Monte Motor Works Inc (DLTB), one unit; and
  •     Rural Transit of Mindanao Inc, 15 units.

"We have been reminding bus operators and their drivers to refrain from driving recklessly to prevent fatal road accidents. The Board will never tolerate reckless driving behavior, kaya pinapatawan namin ng 30-day preventive suspension order ang JAM Liner, DLTB at Rural Transit of Mindanao Inc. from operating along our national roads," LTFRB chairman Winston M. Ginez said.

Within 30 days, the three bus companies must bring all their units to the Motor Vehicle Inspection Service (MVIS) of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for inspection and determination of their road worthiness before they are again allowed to operate.

JAM Liner bus with plate number DXV-571 and DLTB unit with plate number UYC-564 collided along the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) in Brgy Poblacion, Malvar, Batangas, on May 4, 2014 resulting in the death of one passenger and injuries to 46 others.

In the case of Rural Transit, one of its buses with plate number KWA-252 figured in a road incident at 1:45 p.m of April 27 along the National Highway in Brgy. Anonang, Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur, resulting in the death of six passengers and multiple injuries to 16 others.

The 10 JAM Liner units covered by the PSO ply the San Juan, Batangas – Lawton, Manila via Lipa City route. They have been grounded at the company’s garage in the Penta Compound, Pulong Sta Cruz, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The DLTB unit involved in the accident will also be grounded in its terminal in EDSA Cubao, Quezon City.

Movement for ZERO fatalities

Pixillusion Technologies Inc. and www.iwantseats.com.ph, the first real time bus ticket booking website are inviting you to join the movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads, especially those caused by reckless driving and public vehicles that are allowed to ply our roads without ensuring their road worthiness.

Let us encourage and demand better public transportation services from bus operators, government regulatory boards, the government and let them know we care about what takes place on our roads.

We are beginning this movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads by offering our proprietary "360 Pre-Trip Inspection” checking and monitoring system to bus operators for free. This hand-held device can check vital aspects of a bus and tell you of its current condition, whether it should be quarantined or allowed to carry passengers and travel. When this  "360 Pre-Trip Inspection” checking and monitoring system is used religiously and properly by quality control  before any bus is dispatched for travel, the use of this device, which we are giving for free to bus operators will definitely curb down road fatalities.

Please post this article on your facebook and share to friends to get the movement for ZERO fatalities on our roads massive support.

Pixillusion Technologies Inc. and www.iwantseats.com.ph are advocates of reinventing our public transportation in the Philippines by using Information Technology to facilitate greater convenience and public safety. Technology has opened possibilities of improving our lives so must our public transportation.

Holy Week Reflections

"He has been raised up; he is not here." (Mark 16:6)

Holy Saturday Reflection

THE CROSS
The cross is the hope of Christians
the cross is the resurrection of the dead
the cross is the way of the lost
the cross is the savior of the lost
the cross is the staff of the lame
the cross is the guide of the blind
the cross is the strength of the weak
the cross is the doctor of the sick
the cross is the aim of the priests
the cross is the hope of the hopeless
the cross is the freedom of the slaves
the cross is the power of the kings
the cross is the water of the seeds
the cross is the consolation of the bondsmen
the cross is the source of those who seek water
the cross is the cloth of the naked.
We thank you, Father, for the cross.

Lenten Fact
On Holy Saturday the Church is, as it were, at the Lord's tomb, meditating on his passion and death, and on his descent into hell, and awaiting his resurrection with prayer and fasting. It is highly recommended that on this day the Office of Readings and Morning Prayer be celebrated with the participation of the people (cf. n. 40). Where this cannot be done, there should be some celebration of the Word of God, or some act of devotion suited to the mystery celebrated this day. The image of Christ crucified or lying in the tomb, or the descent into hell, which mystery Holy Saturday recalls, as also an image of the sorrowful Virgin Mary can be placed in the church for the veneration of the faithful. On this day the Church abstains strictly from the celebration of the sacrifice of the Mass. Holy Communion may only be given in the form of Viaticum. The celebration of marriages is forbidden, as also the celebration of other sacraments, except those of Penance and the Anointing of the Sick. The faithful are to be instructed on the special character of Holy Saturday. Festive customs and traditions associated with this day on account of the former practice of anticipating the celebration of Easter on Holy Saturday should be reserved for Easter night and the day that follows.

Holy Saturday Prayer

Lord, by the suffering of Christ your Son you have saved us all from the death we inherited from sinful Adam. By the law of nature we have borne the likeness of his manhood. May the sanctifying power of grace help us to put on the likeness of our Lord in heaven, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.

Pixillusion offers “Live Tracking for Buses” to Bus Operators

Pixillusion Technologies Inc., founder of the Philippines’ first real time bus booking platform, www.iwantseats.com.ph, offers “live tracking for buses” to bus operators. This “live tracking for buses” program is based on real time GPS updates from buses hooked to the system.

Online bus ticketing service provider Pixillusion Technologies Inc. is introducing this “Live tracking of buses” program to bus operators to help improve passenger safety. This is a management system that can monitor the vehicle’s “road-worthiness”, such as route monitoring, engine runtime recording, distance travel, and arrival-departure monitoring, and it has a way of monitoring the driver’s driving speed. The live tracking of buses also enables commuters to track the exact location of a bus and its arrival time, depending on whether the bus has real-time GPS system installed in it.

He also warned overspeeding drivers who would test positive for liquor or drugs that they would be detained and charged by the police.

”Beginning tonight (Sunday), whoever is caught (overspeeding), smelling of liquor, I order the police to hold and not to release [the violators],” Duterte said.

iwantseats.com.ph New Beginnings in 2014

This 2014,
we are going to experience
a wave of innovation.
Booking bus tickets
just got a whole lot easier
via www.iwantseats.com.ph

The Philippines has more than 7,100 islands,
and each of those islands are connected by means of land,
sea and air transportation both for travelers and residents.
There are different modes of public transportation available to go around these many islands.
Land public transportation has been the primary mode of transportation.
Buses ply regular routes between cities and across metropolitan centers
Public buses have the name of their destination posted on the front.
While these routes are operated according to a schedule,
once they’re filled up, buses often depart early.

There are also jeepneys, but a jeepney has smaller
passenger capacity than a regular-sized bus
Taxis are also readily available in major cities.

Public transportation means “passenger transportation that is available
for the general public”. By definition, this does not include private vehicles,
hired vans that require a negotiation and a contract on the rates,
and similar other rides.

Tourists are often surprised to find that travel by hire car is also possible.
Just last year, new transportation booking modes have made it possible
to hire taxis over phone apps on smartphones
aside from bookings done on a regular phone and SMS.

This 2014, we are going to experience a wave of innovation.
Booking bus tickets just got a whole lot easier via www.iwantseats.com.ph.

www.iwantseats.com.ph, founded by Pixillusion Technologies Inc.,
is Philippines’ first real time bus booking platform.

www.iwantseats.com.ph aggregates bus inventory from bus operators
and makes it available in real time to end consumers across the country
via its portal www.iwantseats.com.ph.

Pixillusion Technologies Inc. also offers software,
on a Software as a Service (SaaS) basis,
which gives bus operators the option of handling their
own ticketing and managing their own inventories.
To date, the company says they have serviced
more than 50,000 seats of a popular coach bus company
plying Baguio City and Baler Aurora Quezon.
